The coalition members of NY Renews come from across the state and across constituencies. Labor unions, community groups, environmental organizations, faith communities, environmental justice advocates — the list goes on. We find inspiration in our diversity of perspectives, and strength in our breadth of expertise.

Our Vision

We are organizing for a world in which all New Yorkers can live a dignified, joyful life, free from the harms of the climate crisis. No one is poisoned, falls ill, or dies prematurely because of where they live or how much they have. We are building a just, democratic state where inequality — be it environmental, economic, racial, or health — is a thing of the past.

In the world NY Renews envisions, we live in thriving, healthy communities. Every person breathes clean air, drinks clean water, lives and works in safe, healthy environments, and enjoys abundant and accessible green space and public transportation. Communities historically overburdened by environmental injustice and climate change, namely low-income, Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities, have led the transformation of their neighborhoods, assisted by meaningful public investment. In our vision, a democratic social and political order serves people and planet in service of the public good, not corporate profit.

Our Coalition

NY Renews is a coalition of nearly 400 climate, labor, and community groups organizing for climate justice across New York State. We fight for clean energy, union jobs, and a healthier, more affordable state.

NY Renews is a project of the Working Families Organization.
